Zbrush: Skulls

I base modeled these skulls in Maya 2010 then took them into Zbrush to polish them up. The reason they aren't more detailed is because they are too far from the camera to see it. I just wanted to make sure I got the silhouette.

Zbrush: Environment (normal/diffuse)

Added an image with my character in the environment.

As promised, here is the environment with some textures applied. I am trying to get the entire thing first roughed out and then I will come back to refine it.

Character: Troy

Here is the character textured with normal and diffuse. He is lit with four lights to show him off. He still needs some refining.

Note: I was asked one day why it is taking so much time to develop this one character. Well, keep in mind I am still learning new things at school plus assignments from Physics, CG350, ANI 350, PRJ350, FLM201. The character is for PRJ350, but ended up being a huge part of CG350 as well, sculpting, critique, re-sculpting, critique, re-sculpting, etc.

Other things I need to learn:
Physics: Math? It has been a long time since I've worked with equations and word problems.
Ani: Planning, Blocking 1, Blocking 2: Plus, Refining
Flm: Editing film in AVID
Prj: Environment sculpting and texturing (really excited about this one, will post what I have later)
CG: Level design using the Hammer Editor on Steam

So, as you can see I am not working ONLY on this character. *grin*

Animation 350: Update

So using two Generi's was bad, so I had to switch out the Generi patient and put in Lars. Actually makes it more interesting. Also, textured the monitors screen and added a more interesting pose for Generi.

Zbrush: Final Body Update

Needed to change/modify the character more as recommended by the instructor. I am going to really call this done now. I need to start finishing the environment.

- More mass to the chest and then fix the shirt for wrinkles.
- Modified the arms to show more muscles.
- Added more details to the hands.

Zbrush: Update

Alright here are some changes to the arms and hands. Yes, the fingers look weird. I am not happy about the hands just because I did not design him nor did I model him to be near realistic. I am required to establish a grade in my class to sculpt him this way. Either way working with Zbrush is GREAT! I am starting to not mind doing this, but next time I will have to design/model for realistic so I won't have a hard time with this.

Coffee Day Doodles - Day 1

I know who in the world that attends DigiPen have time to draw doodles? Well, a few of us make time. Drawing is what helps remind some of us why we chose this profession, keep our sanities, hang out with awesome people you go to school with, and talk about what bothers us. Either way I had time to work out thumbnails.

Staging

Render Frame (worked out lighting with a pose in mind)

These images above represent the Pre-Production required before starting our Blocking 1 stage animation. This workflow/process is a lot of work and for me a lot of fun.

Updated Zbrush: Character Body

Here are some updated images of my characters body. At this point I am calling it done and moving on. I need to other aspects of my project complete like my environment, which I care more about. More to come.

Zbrush: Character Head

On to the head! Alright so here are three images of my characters head modified ever so slightly with Zbrush. Just to note my character was first modeled basically in Maya and brought into Zbrush. More to come once I complete the entire character.

Rigging in Maya

Nothing really special. A basic rig for my Projects character. FK arms, no IK because there is no real need, animation doesn't call for it. IK spine and legs and set driven keys for the hands. The rig was built for ease of use and only for the required animation, walk slight crouch and run of screen.

Zbrush

Here are some Zbrush WIP images of my characters body. This is the first time working in Zbrush and I find the program very addicting.

Project 350 - WIP

It has been a long while since I posted anything. Here is a render of my environment with blinn materials and my character pretending to hold a torch. The project is in texture phase. The lighting is not final, just quickly thrown in to light the scene.
