Between being a full time dad and texturing and modeling, I did two more. Getting a hang of this texturing thing. I am having tons of fun with this. Enjoy!
I am also trying out a new plugin for Photoshop that fixes a lot of Adobe's brush issues that seem to have stuck around since, oh I don't know, the creation of the software. And it works great! See link below:
After doing some research on wood floors I found some interesting photos of wood ends used as flooring. After more research on how to do such a thing hand painted, I had to figure it out on my own. What you see is what I completed. Now just gotta do a little more and tile it. *smiles*
I saw this really neat cube texture sheet from this really amazing artist....wait right there let me find it......
....and after much searching, found it.....
Pretty inspiring! Now I know what you are saying, and I know my wood texture is no where near that quality of work, but hey with more practice you never know. Oh and to note, while looking on Pintrest, and seeing all of those awesome textures, I got both discouraged and inspired. I have a long ways to go. *smile*
I started with the colors seen above and then adjusted the wood colors after.
I've been sculpting and modeling so much that I haven't been working on the one thing I am weak at, texturing. I am trying to strengthen my hand painting skills for texturing. Maybe I'll do textures like this everyday, wood, rock, stone, etc. We'll see how it works. But regardless I need to hammer texturing out and get better. Any critiques and suggestions, help, whatever you can dish out at me is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
I couldn't resist. Aurora got some turkey this morning and she ran as fast as she could. And for those that have kids, you can totally relate. *smile* Oh, and yes it was the drumstick of the turkey.
I was able to work a little more on the textures. The chest is coming along but still not done. There is more to do. Will post an update when I am completely done with the chest or next Friday, whichever comes first. *smiles*.
A little texturing. Still needs some refining. Posting early since I will be very busy with personal things starting tomorrow. Hope you like it *smiles*.
Having a little more hard surface / Zbrush fun. I ran into some complications with the Mech, but return to it once I figure things out. Until then something typical and was fun, but not finished yet. Critiques welcome.
The chest is based off a concept found at this link > Brian White Art. (top first chest)
Software:
Maya 2013
Zbrush 4r6
Added rivots and the metal plates on the sides. All that is left is the handles.
Trying to focus on function as much as I am trying to create something fun, also getting that hard surface practice in. With watching my daughter full time and this, I'd say it's an adventure.
I am currently working on a project so posting on the blog will be slim. Thanks for visiting and new things will be posted as I have time to work on personal projects.
